April 18, 2019 Greg Williams

Distributors are extremely dependent upon shipping carriers. After all, if you don’t fulfill orders, you don’t get paid. If you don’t get the best shipping rates, it cuts straight into your profit. We understand it is critical for distributors like you to use the right shipping methods, at the right price, for the right orders. And all that can be time-consuming and frustrating without the right solution.

Parcel shipping is an important business process that impacts both your shipping and productivity costs. For these reasons, Western Computer is pleased to announce the launch of 365ParcelShip, one of our innovative distribution applications for Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

Why do distributors need 365ParcelShip for Dynamics 365?

Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations already supports shipping larger items that are typically sent by full truckloads or LTL loads. However, what was missing (until now) was the ability to manage and ship smaller parcels from within Dynamics 365. Given the vast array of carrier choices and fluctuating prices, Dynamics 365 users had to leave the system to research and select the best alternative.

This created the need to transfer the shipping data into Dynamics 365, which takes too much time. Or you could contract with a third-party to provide multi-carrier support and integration, which is too expensive. 365ParcelShip fills this gap, allowing you to seamlessly integrate multi-carrier parcel shipping functionality into Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.

What does 365ParcelShip include?

  • A new seamless way to ship smaller parcels right from within Dynamics 365
  • Automatic rate shopping
  • Ability to link shipping information to orders and customer records
  • Ship parcels from multiple locations including warehouse, inside sales, and the sales counter

Basically, you can shop, print labels, ship and track right inside Dynamics 365.

What exactly is this solution?

365ParcelShip by Western Computer provides an extension that solves this problem without requiring the user to go outside of the system to another application. It looks and operates just like the rest of Dynamics 365. Your users will be comfortable with the look and feel and will now be able to ship smaller parcels without ever leaving the system. Thanks to an internet-based rate engine, your users will also be able to take care of all record-keeping, printing, and inventory functions to enable the shipment.

This is an elegant and simple solution that is both cost-effective and easy to use. Your users do not have to worry about accessing and maintaining separate databases or keeping up to date with all the different carrier terms and rates.

Thanks to this new solution, you never have to worry about additional programming or integration services. Costing only a few cents for each parcel shipped, 365ParcelShip is both affordable and predictable.

How do I get more information?

365ParcelShip is available for download on Microsoft AppSource, a resource for line-of-business apps for Microsoft Dynamics.
