One of the great aspects of being a Microsoft customer is how Microsoft listens and reacts to customer feedback. The Microsoft Ideas platform for Business Central provides users with a place to submit suggestions for improvements

Here’s where you can propose changes to functions, features, entities, views, and forms. Your suggestions just might influence future product updates.

In addition to submitting your ideas on what you want to see in the Microsoft Business Central Cloud roadmap, you can view ideas from other Business Central users and vote on whether you like their suggestions. This helps user ideas gain traction for development consideration by Microsoft for their bi-annual Release Wave updates. As an example of user feedback that Microsoft implemented, check out our on-demand webinar, Launch Event: Business Central Update 2024 Release Wave 2.

16 Categories to Pinpoint Your Suggestions

Microsoft has set up the Ideas platform to include several categories so you can pinpoint the type of suggestion you have to offer:

  • Data Migrations

  • Development

  • Documentation

  • Financial Management

  • Geographies/Localization

  • Inventory

  • Manufacturing

  • Office Integration

  • Opportunity Management

  • Project Management

  • Purchasing

  • Reports/Business Intelligence

  • Sales

  • Service Order Management

  • Tenant Administration

  • Warehousing

As you submit an idea or ask a question, provide as many details as you can, including any context about how your Business Central workflows function. As Microsoft developers review your idea, they will decide whether to incorporate them into future biannual updates based on user demand and feasibility.

Additional Resources

You can also visit the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Release Planning Portal to discover the latest updates and new features. Other helpful sources include a section of Frequently Asked Questions along with idea forums for Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Power Pages.

The Ideas platform is a great place to learn and engage with the Dynamics 365 Community. After submitting an idea, you can see comments from other users and responses from Microsoft. There’s even a scoreboard showing the top submitters and how many of their ideas were adopted.

Sometimes, just reading what other users are thinking about Business Central Cloud will spurn new ideas of your own.

To dive even further into Business Central Cloud, visit Microsoft Learn. This portal provides you with documentation, hands-on training, and certifications so you get the most Microsoft products.
