IDC Identifies Dynamics 365 Business Central as an ERP Leader

April 30, 2024 Amanda Sherry

It’s no surprise to us at Western Computer: IDC has identified Dynamics 365 Business Central as a leading ERP solution.

The Microsoft platform provides powerful and modern capabilities for mid-sized businesses. It has also proven ideal for many of our customers in industries such as manufacturing, distribution, home builders, and rentals.

IDC named Dynamics 365 Business Central in the 2024 MarketScape Report for SaaS and cloud-enabled small business ERP applications. As shown below, Dynamics 365 Business Central is one of the top solutions in the Leaders category:

As IDC notes, Business Central provides a comprehensive business management cloud ERP solution that connects finance, sales, service, supply chain, projects, operations, reporting, and analytics. Built-in reports enable small and medium businesses to get real-time cash flow, identify financial patterns, and analyze trends. The solution also serves as an aid in business planning.

Leverages Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence

Customers can connect Business Central reports and charts with Microsoft Power BI to provide business analytics capabilities to accounting, sales, purchasing, and inventory teams. Users can also access Business Central data through tight integration with Microsoft 365 applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

A more recent built-in integration that bolsters the performance of Business Central in the cloud is Microsoft Copilot. This artificial intelligence tool enables businesses to anticipate business needs and improve decision-making. Copilot also provides time-saving capabilities for accounting teams like automated bank reconciliation.

The importance of selecting the right partner

In the report, IDC points out that the first step to implementing an ERP system is to develop the right strategy and plan for implementation. Second, select the right implementation partner who can show you a hands-on demo with your live data to show the benefits to your business. Be sure the partner understands the regulations that impact your business and continues to support you on your journey after completing the deployment.

One of the reasons so many of our customers have found success with Business Central is our ability to meet these requirements. We are on a mission to empower the businesses of today to be the giants of tomorrow.
